Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin Dead at 76
Queen of R&B Aretha Franklin died today, born in Memphis on March 25th, 1942, Franklin was started off as a gospel singer. Aretha dropped her first album at the age 14, she top the charts during her career during the late 60's and early 70's.
Franklin first Number one R&B hit was titled "Respect, " off her album "I Never Loved a Man," she responded to her fast quick to the top by saying “It just happened,” “We arrived, and we arrived very quickly.”
Aretha Franklin had seven kids, over the course of her six-decade career, Franklin garnered 44 Grammy nominations, winning 18, and became the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
